People, not profit
We build what our communities actually need, not what extracts the most from them.
Tech and operations · A cooperative in formation
Evocatr runs the operations and builds tech for queers, creatives, and culturally diverse communities. Every project runs on the same rules: people over profit, profit back into the work, and an exit to trust, never an IPO.
Whatever we build, it sits on the same foundation. These are not values on a wall. They are written into how we are structured, paid and governed.
We build what our communities actually need, not what extracts the most from them.
The people who build and use our platforms get a real say in how they run.
Surplus goes back into building more tech, and out to the workers and customers who give our platforms life.
Our platforms are never sold to the highest bidder. Ownership passes into a trust that keeps them serving their community for good.
Where the money goes
We're new, so there's nothing to split yet. When there is, it only goes three places. How much goes where gets decided with our first members, in the open.
What comes in
Revenue from our platforms and the work we do
The build
Back into making and maintaining more tech.
The workers
The people who build and run the platforms.
The community
The customers and members who give them life.
Not on the list: outside investors, buyouts, a stock ticker.
What we do
Evocatr was started by an artist who spent two decades running operations, payments and trust & safety for platforms that served communities the mainstream ignored. We know how to keep the lights on and the users safe. Now we put that to work for our own communities.
Payments, compliance, trust & safety, support and the processes that hold a platform together. We come in, fix what's broken and set it up to scale without selling out your users.
Platforms, marketplaces and tools, from first idea to launch.
Ownership and surplus with the workers and members who make each platform worth using.
Builders, artists, future members, curious people. Get updates as we form the co-op and open our first projects.
